Dothan, Ala. – An 11-year-old boy is recovering in a Dothan hospital after being accidentally shot on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Fox Valley Drive when a 17-year-old boy was handling a firearm recklessly, and it discharged, striking the younger boy in the shoulder.
Emergency responders transported the injured child to Flowers Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities were seen at the hospital’s emergency room in significant numbers following the shooting.
