Enterprise, Ala. – Enterprise High School head baseball coach Marty Lovrich has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident late Thursday night. According to records from the Coffee County Jail, a state trooper booked Lovrich at 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, and he was released early Friday morning at 8:18 a.m.
Lovrich, who took over as head coach of the Enterprise High School baseball team 18 months ago, previously served as a coach at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) before his appointment. The arrest marks a significant moment in his tenure with the program.
Enterprise High School Principal Stan Sauls released a brief statement regarding the situation. “We are aware of the situation and are handling it,” Sauls said. “We are waiting to hear the direction in which we need to go.”
Court records show that Lovrich has had prior minor traffic violations, including two citations for speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt. However, this recent arrest represents a more serious legal issue.
As of now, it remains unclear what immediate actions the school district will take regarding Lovrich’s position as head coach. The school has yet to comment further on whether Lovrich will remain in his role while legal proceedings unfold or if other measures will be taken in the interim.
Lovrich’s arrest is the latest challenge for the Enterprise High School baseball program, which has enjoyed relative success in recent years under his leadership. It is yet to be seen how this incident will affect the team, their upcoming season, and the broader community’s support of the program.
