Trial Date Set for Woman Accused of Shooting Man During Robbery

DOTHAN, Ala. — A trial date has been set for a woman accused of shooting a man during a robbery in Dothan last September. Veronica McMillan, who faces charges of attempted murder and robbery, is scheduled to appear in court for her trial starting on June 23, 2025, according to court documents.

McMillan, along with an accomplice, Ty’Qon McMillan, allegedly attempted to steal a man’s phone in the early hours of the incident. When the victim fought back, the two suspects are accused of shooting him in the back of the head. Despite the severity of the injury, the victim survived and is expected to make a full recovery.

Before the trial begins, McMillan will appear in court for a pretrial hearing on April 10. She has been granted a bond of $250,000. The case has been assigned to Judge Kevin Moulton, who will oversee the proceedings.

The shooting has left the community shaken, with many following the case closely as it makes its way through the legal system.
