Dothan Commissioner Kevin Dorsey Announces Bid for Re-Election

DOTHAN, Ala — District One Commissioner Kevin Dorsey confirmed during Tuesday’s city commission meeting that he will seek re-election in the upcoming August ballot. Dorsey has represented District One since 2014 and expressed confidence in his ability to continue serving the community effectively.

During the meeting, Dorsey stated that his commitment to the district remains strong and that he continues to think critically about the needs of his constituents. He noted that he is encouraged by the direction the city is taking, particularly in the northern parts of District One.

“There is still more work to be done,” Dorsey said. “A lot of major projects are underway on the north side near Flynn Road, including road resurfacing, new developments, and new housing.”

He urged residents to evaluate his performance based on tangible results, emphasizing the seriousness of the upcoming election. “This is not a popularity contest,” Dorsey said. “I encourage citizens to check my report card and see what I have accomplished during my time as commissioner.”

Dorsey’s announcement marks the latest development in the lead-up to the city’s August elections, as incumbents and new candidates prepare to vie for positions on the commission.
