Dothan, AL – The Dothan Fire Department announced that one week remains for participants to register for the 2026 “Fit To Fight” 5K, 10K, and 5K Firefighter Ruck.
The race, which serves as the first event in the HEROES CHALLENGE series, is scheduled to take place next Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Officials said pre-registration numbers have already surpassed last year’s record totals, marking strong community interest in the event.
Organizers encouraged those interested to register ahead of time rather than waiting until the last minute.
The event is expected to draw participants ranging from competitive runners to firefighters taking part in the ruck, along with community members supporting from the sidelines.
Department representatives noted that the race continues to grow each year, crediting community support for its increasing participation and success.
