Dothan, AL – Officials from across Houston County recently gathered in Dothan, Alabama, to take part in a ceremonial tree planting honoring American Revolutionary history.
According to the City of Dothan Government, mayors and county leaders joined together to plant a descendant of the historic Liberty Tree that once stood near Boston Common during the Revolutionary era.
City officials said the newly planted elm, referred to as the “Spirit of Liberty,” is intended to symbolize the enduring legacy of freedom and civic unity.
The city described the event as a moment of historical reflection and community pride, marking the tree’s planting as a symbolic connection between local government leaders and early American history.
