Dothan, AL – The City of Dothan Government announced continued overnight paving, resurfacing, and milling operations along several sections of Main Street and nearby roadways as part of an ongoing roadway improvement project.
According to city officials, contractors will continue nighttime resurfacing work between Museum Avenue and Ross Clark Circle on May 17 and May 18.
Officials said the section between Museum Avenue and South Oates Street will be completely closed to traffic beginning at 7 p.m. on May 19 and May 20 while crews mill, resurface, and apply temporary striping. If additional time is needed, the same closure schedule may continue on May 21.
The city said Main Street is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. each morning following overnight work.
Beginning May 20, contractors will also start milling operations between South Oates Street and Englewood Avenue, with overnight lane closures expected in that area.
City officials said both milling and resurfacing efforts will continue in that section beginning May 21, with multiple lane closures anticipated overnight through June 5. No construction work is scheduled for Memorial Day.
Additional paving work on side streets and turnouts is planned from June 7 through June 26 and will include both daytime and nighttime temporary lane closures.
Officials noted that all construction schedules remain weather dependent and updates will be provided if plans change.
