Dothan, AL – The Dothan Fire Department is inviting community members to attend a benefit fundraiser on June 18 to support one of its firefighters whose child is currently battling cancer.
According to the department, all proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the family to help offset the financial challenges often associated with cancer treatment, including medical expenses, travel costs, and daily living needs.
The department said childhood cancer is a cause that holds a special place in the hearts of its members.
Through its annual Going for the Gold 5K and continued support of local families, firefighters have witnessed the strength and resilience demonstrated by children and families facing cancer.
Department officials are encouraging residents to attend the event and show their support for the family during this difficult time.
The fundraiser aims to bring the community together to provide financial assistance and encouragement while reminding the family that they have the support of those around them as they navigate the challenges ahead.
The Dothan Fire Department thanked the community for its generosity, prayers, and continued support.
