DOTHAN, Ala. — The Dothan Fire Department honored Deputy Chief Chris Etheredge on May 29 as he retired after 32 years of service to the City of Dothan and the department.
A retirement ceremony was held at Station 3, where firefighters, city officials, family members, and community supporters gathered to recognize Etheredge’s career and contributions.
According to the Dothan Fire Department, Etheredge served the community with professionalism, leadership, and integrity throughout his three decades of service.
During his career, he oversaw administration and support services, served as Fire Marshal, and mentored numerous firefighters.
Department officials said his leadership and dedication helped shape the organization and left a lasting impact on both the department and the city.
The department expressed its appreciation for Etheredge’s years of service and wished him and his family well as he begins retirement.
Fire officials noted that his contributions to the Dothan Fire Department and the community will continue to be felt for years to come.
