Dothan, AL – On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers with the Dothan Police Department and personnel from Dothan Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Hutchins Street.
Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Emergency medical aid was immediately provided at the scene before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim had recently left a small gathering and was walking home when the shooting occurred.
Authorities stated the case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are currently working to identify and locate multiple individuals who may have information relevant to the incident.
