Dothan, AL – On Saturday, July 3, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Dothan Police Department received multiple calls reporting shots fired inside Wiregrass Commons Mall.
Officials stated that officers arrived on scene in less than two minutes and immediately began clearing the mall along with individual businesses inside the facility. As a precautionary measure, the mall and all stores were placed under lockdown in accordance with standard protocol.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire. However, there was minimal damage to the structure of the mall.
Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from multiple cameras in an effort to identify the individual responsible for the incident.
