ASHFORD, Ala. – Ashford, along with other cities in Houston County, is preparing to make significant improvements to its parks and recreation facilities, thanks to a recently passed one percent lodging tax.
The one percent tax, which was approved by voters in November of last year, is set to generate funds that will directly benefit local communities, and Ashford is among the recipients of these new resources. The city has been allocated $506,000 for the development and enhancement of its recreational facilities.
