Brundidge Man Arrested on Murder Charges Following Fatal Crash

DOTHAN, Ala. — A Brundidge man is facing murder charges following a deadly crash that claimed the life of his wife late last year. Jacob Dease, 45, was arrested on Monday after a grand jury indictment in connection with the incident.

The tragic event occurred in December 2024 when Dease was driving along County Road 72 near Ariton. According to authorities, Dease’s truck veered off the road and crashed into a tree, bursting into flames. The collision resulted in the death of his wife, 50-year-old Indea Dease, who was in the passenger seat at the time.

At the time of the crash, officials had not immediately released further details about the cause, but the investigation later led to the grand jury indictment. Jacob Dease is now facing charges of murder and is currently being held without bond at the Dale County Jail.

This arrest has shocked the local community, and many are awaiting further developments as the case moves forward in the legal system. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
