ENTERPRISE, Ala. – A local boutique in Enterprise was forced to close its doors after a car crashed through the front of the store in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. when the vehicle, reportedly traveling on Dauphin Street, crossed North Main Street and crashed into Hello Beautiful Boutique, striking the storefront near the checkout area.
Fortunately, no one was inside the store at the time of the crash, and there were no injuries reported. However, the damage to the building was significant, leaving the store temporarily closed as a construction crew works to assess the extent of the destruction and secure the premises. The boutique will most likely have to board up the affected area while repairs are made.
Store owner Wendy Grimes expressed her shock and concern over the timing of the incident. The crash happened just before the busy Easter shopping season, a time when foot traffic typically increases. “It’s hard to digest,” Grimes said. “We were gearing up for a busy season, and now we’re faced with the aftermath of this unexpected setback.”
Although the physical store is closed for an unknown period of time, the boutique’s online operations remain open. Customers can still place orders on the store’s website and take advantage of curbside pickup for items that need to be collected.
Local authorities are investigating the incident, though details on the driver’s identity and whereabouts remain unclear. Witnesses reported that the driver fled the scene shortly after the crash, leaving law enforcement to search for the individual involved.
As the boutique navigates this challenging situation, Grimes and her team are focused on restoring the store to its former state while continuing to serve their customers online.
