City announces annual household hazardous materials collection day

Dothan, AL – The City of Dothan Government announced its 3rd Annual Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day, encouraging residents to safely dispose of unwanted and potentially harmful items.

The event is held each year in recognition of Earth Day and the spring cleaning season, providing the community with an opportunity to properly discard materials that should not be placed in regular trash.

Residents are invited to drop off items including paints, oils, grease, pesticides, solvents, batteries, electronics, tires, and pill-form medications.

Officials also noted that records can be brought for secure destruction.

City leaders said the annual event aims to promote environmental responsibility while helping residents reduce household hazards through safe and proper disposal methods.
