Dothan, AL – The City of Dothan Government recognized local Purple Heart recipients during its commission meeting held on March 24, 2026.
During the meeting, City Commissioner Dave Stock presented a proclamation officially designating Dothan as a Purple Heart City, honoring those who were wounded or killed in service to the nation.
Following the meeting, a reception was held to recognize and celebrate the service and sacrifice of the honored veterans.
City officials said the event highlighted the community’s appreciation and respect for those who have received the Purple Heart.
