Dothan, Ala. — A 28-year-old man from Dothan was found dead in a Birmingham residence early Sunday morning, the Birmingham Police Department confirmed.
According to officials, officers responded to a call about a person down at approximately 6:47 a.m. on April 27, 2025. Upon arriving at the scene, located in the 200 block of Eighth Court West, police discovered Richard Alexander Wilson Jr. unresponsive inside a home. Authorities reported that Wilson appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown individual had found Wilson inside the residence and immediately called 911 to report the incident. As of Sunday morning, police have provided few details on the circumstances surrounding the death, and the investigation remains in its early stages.
