Elba, Ala. – Elba City Schools announced that both Elba High School and Elba Elementary School will remain closed on Tuesday, February 18, due to ongoing water leak issues at the campuses. The district issued a brief statement on social media confirming the closures, explaining that the water leaks have made it necessary to cancel classes for students on that day.
While students will not attend school, faculty and staff are expected to report as scheduled for an in-service day. The district emphasized that further updates would be provided as the situation at both schools continues to be assessed.
The closure follows a Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday, February 17, during which the schools were also closed.
Officials are working to resolve the water leak issues and will update the community as new information becomes available.
