Family in Banks, Alabama Devastated by Tornado, Turns to Community for Support

TROY, Ala. — A family in the small community of Banks, Alabama, is seeking support after their home was destroyed by a powerful tornado that struck the area over the weekend. Kryss Allen, who was injured during the storm, is now recovering while his family faces the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

At the time of the tornado, Allen was asleep in his trailer when the storm struck. The tornado violently lifted his home off its concrete blocks, tossing it onto the middle of Highway 29. Allen woke up on the ground, suffering from head and hand injuries, as well as multiple cuts and bruises. Tragically, the storm not only destroyed the trailer but also crushed Allen’s car, leaving him without transportation.

In the wake of this disaster, Kryss Allen’s family is reaching out to the community for help. A GoFundMe page has been established to raise funds for the family, with a goal of replacing the home and helping Allen recover from his injuries.

“Trying to get him clothes, shoes, hygiene products and then another home… He lost everything. He lost his car so he doesn’t have a vehicle, so we are going to have to start from scratch,” said Lacee Allen, a family member. “Any support is greatly appreciated as we work to rebuild.”

The family is not only in need of financial assistance for a new home but also basic necessities such as clothing and personal care items. As Kryss Allen continues to recover, the community’s support is essential for the family to begin rebuilding their lives after such a devastating loss.

Those who wish to help can contribute to the GoFundMe page, where funds will go directly toward meeting the immediate needs of the Allen family and aiding them in their recovery process.
