Fatal Crash Claims Life of Brundidge Man in Pike County

Pike County, Ala. – A deadly crash on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Brundidge man and left others injured. The incident occurred on Alabama Highway 125, near the 23-mile marker, approximately seven miles south of Brundidge.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) officials, the collision involved two vehicles. Anquavious D. Walker, 25, of Brundidge, was driving a car when it collided head-on with an SUV driven by 43-year-old Adrian Vernon of Covington, Georgia.

Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. Also in the car with him was a 2-year-old child, who sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Vernon, the driver of the SUV, also suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital in Dothan for care.

The crash is under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division. At this time, no additional details have been released. Authorities have not disclosed the condition of the injured individuals.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of seatbelt use, as it could have played a critical role in preventing fatal injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash and will release further information when available.
