Fire Destroys Abandoned Home in Dale County, Quick Response Prevents Further Damage

DALE COUNTY, Ala. — Firefighters responded swiftly to a house fire in the Whispering Lakes Subdivision this past weekend. The fire, which broke out in an abandoned home located between Midland City and Ozark, had already consumed half of the structure by the time first responders arrived on the scene.

Multiple fire departments, including Newton Volunteer Fire, Pinckard Volunteer Fire, and Ewell Volunteer Fire, along with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, quickly mobilized to contain the blaze. Despite the significant damage to the home, firefighters managed to save part of the structure and prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring properties.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine how the blaze started. No injuries have been reported.

Officials praised the swift and coordinated efforts of all agencies involved, which helped mitigate what could have been an even more devastating incident.
