Houston County, AL — A former Houston County deputy was found dead on Friday night along a highway in southern Houston County, sparking an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Scott Spivey, a former deputy from Dothan. Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd confirmed the identification after the body was discovered on County Road 33, near the railroad tracks, situated between Hodgesville Baptist Church and Hodgesville Road.
