Houston County Pursuit Ends in Crash After PIT Maneuver

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. — A high-speed chase involving Houston County Sheriff’s Deputies ended with a dramatic crash in the southeastern part of the county, authorities said.

The pursuit concluded when deputies executed a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver, forcing the suspect’s vehicle off the road. The vehicle crashed on Eddins Road near the intersection of Middleton Road. The suspect’s car sustained moderate damage, though details regarding the driver’s condition remain unclear at this time.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact circumstances that led to the chase, but reports indicate that the driver is from Florida. According to local news outlet Rickey Stokes News, a second passenger was allegedly in the vehicle but was reportedly dropped off before the crash occurred.
