Houston County, Ala. — Two local residents played a crucial role in aiding law enforcement during a suspect pursuit on Sunday afternoon.
Multiple Houston County Sheriff’s Deputies and officers from the Ashford Police Department responded to reports of disorderly conduct involving several individuals on Oak Creek Lane, near Bluff Springs Road. Witnesses reported hearing shouting and commotion involving both males and females.
According to authorities, one or more suspects fled on foot, fleeing between a nearby trailer park on Oak Creek Lane and the cemetery at Bluff Springs Church. During the pursuit, two Houston County residents, Nick Francis and Kincaid Knight, intervened and reportedly apprehended one suspect in the woods, holding the individual at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
Francis later told WDHN that the deputies expressed gratitude for their assistance in the incident.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Department has taken over the investigation. WDHN has contacted the department for further information as the case continues to develop.
