Alabama – Ingram State Technical College (ISTC) held its 2025 Fall Institute at 17 Springs in Millbrook, bringing together faculty, staff, and partners to reaffirm the school’s mission of student success.
The two-day event highlighted a range of training and professional development opportunities. In partnership with the Alabama Department of Corrections, participants received instruction on contraband prevention, professional conduct, and emergency response, including AED and Narcan certification.
Sessions also emphasized student-centered strategies, including FERPA compliance, innovative retention methods, and approaches to strengthen academic support.
Guest speakers included Dr. Lorenza Pharrams, who encouraged staff to lead with purpose and passion, and Northeast Alabama Community College’s Darlene Andrews, who spoke about helping students reshape their personal narratives to achieve success.
College leaders also provided updates on academic programs, enrollment figures, and ISTC’s strategic plan, underscoring efforts to expand opportunities while remaining grounded in the institution’s core mission.
President Annette Funderburk thanked faculty, staff, and partners for their dedication, noting that ISTC’s goal is not only to equip students with skills but also to help them build meaningful futures.
