Dothan, Ala. — A fatal house fire occurred Sunday night in Jefferson County, claiming the life of an unidentified individual.
The fire broke out on the 500 block of 7th Avenue SW in Graysville. Responding units from the Graysville Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze. Upon entering the home, firefighters discovered the remains of a person inside.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the death but has not yet released the identity of the victim. Meanwhile, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire and the resulting fatality.
