DOTHAN, Ala. — A section of North Oates Street will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, February 25, to allow for necessary roadway repairs and asphalt patching. The closures will affect the southbound lanes, spanning from the intersection of West Main Street, next to the courthouse, to the intersection of Troy Street.
The roadwork will take place in two phases: the first closure will occur between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and the second will run from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During these times, traffic will be diverted, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
Commercial trucks traveling southbound are urged to detour at Reeves Street and use Ross Clark Circle to avoid the construction area. Motorists passing through downtown Dothan should expect delays and plan accordingly.
The closure is part of ongoing efforts to improve the roadway and ensure safe travel for all drivers. City officials have requested that commuters remain patient during the work and follow any posted detour signs.
