HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. — A semi truck overturned Tuesday afternoon, causing a significant traffic blockage on North Beverlye Road near Columbia Highway. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of North Beverlye Road, where the semi lost control and tipped over, obstructing the intersection.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and work on clearing the truck. Authorities reported that the driver, who was not trapped inside the cab, is being evaluated by medical personnel. While the driver sustained no reported injuries at the time, further assessments are being conducted as a precaution.
As of now, the intersection remains blocked to through traffic, creating delays for drivers in the area. Local authorities have urged motorists to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes while cleanup operations continue.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Traffic in the area is expected to be impacted for the duration of the scene clearance.
