TROY, AL — Authorities responded to a shooting near the Oakdale Apartments in Troy on Sunday evening, just before 9 p.m. Although no injuries were reported, the incident has prompted an ongoing investigation by both the Troy University Police Department and the Troy Police Department.
According to officials, the shooting poses no further threat to the campus community. Despite the lack of injuries, university officers took precautionary measures by escorting students who were attending on-campus meetings to their vehicles or residence halls.
This shooting follows closely on the heels of another violent incident that occurred just 24 hours prior. On Saturday night, a man was fatally shot on Dunn Circle in Troy. As of now, no arrests have been made in either case, and both incidents remain under active investigation.
