DOTHAN, Ala. — An 18-year-old male was arrested Monday night after opening fire at a local movie theater following a dispute over entry.
Jordan Caliste was charged with discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building after police say he fired shots at the AMC Dothan Pavilion 12.
According to authorities, Caliste attempted to gain entry into an R-rated movie but was asked to present identification by theater staff. When Caliste said he did not have his ID, he was denied admission.
Shortly after, police report that Caliste produced a firearm and discharged it, striking an empty building in the parking lot area of the theater.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Caliste was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
