TROY, Ala. – A 22-year-old Troy man is facing serious charges after he was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of an infant. Kesean Wilmore, a relative of the child, was taken into custody on January 10 after an investigation by Troy Police.
The incident came to light when medical staff at the Troy Regional Medical Center Emergency Room contacted police about an infant girl who was suspected to have suffered sexual abuse. Upon arriving at the hospital, officers began their investigation, which led them to Wilmore.
According to Troy Police, Wilmore, who was already on probation at the time, was arrested on a probation violation. He was then transported to the Troy Police Department for further questioning. As of now, Wilmore is being held without bond, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have not released additional details about the case, citing the sensitive nature of the investigation. Local residents have expressed shock and concern following the news of the arrest.
