TROY MAN KILLED IN HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT INVOLVING TWO VEHICLES

TROY, Ala. — A Troy man lost his life Sunday night after being struck by two separate vehicles in a hit-and-run incident on Highway 231.

According to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 47-year-old Wiley Morse was initially hit by a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene. That driver fled, leaving Morse injured on the roadway.

Shortly after, Morse was struck again by a second vehicle, a 2020 Nissan Altima, driven by a 25-year-old resident of Pansey. Emergency responders pronounced Morse dead at the scene.

The crash occurred near mile marker 173, approximately three miles south of Troy.

ALEA continues to investigate and has not yet identified the driver or vehicle responsible for the initial collision. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact ALEA at 334-983-4587.
