Enterprise, AL — Two individuals have been arrested in Enterprise following a police investigation that uncovered illegal drugs in a residence where a child was living.
Ashley Williams and Alvin Winters were taken into custody after officers executed a search warrant at a home located in the 100 block of Grimsley Street. According to authorities, the search revealed marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
Both Williams and Winters are facing charges of chemical endangerment of a child, a felony offense under Alabama law that criminalizes exposing a child to controlled substances or an environment where such substances are present. In addition, Winters faces an extra charge of tampering with physical evidence.
Officials confirmed that a child was present in the home at the time of the search. No injuries were reported, but the presence of illegal drugs in the environment prompted swift legal action.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Coffee County Jail. No bond information was immediately available, and it is unclear if either has retained legal representation.
The case remains under investigation by local authorities.
