DOTHAN, Ala. — Authorities discovered a young man deceased in the parking lot of the southside Walmart on South Oates Street Thursday morning.
According to the Houston County Coroner, Robert Byrd, the man was found inside his vehicle by a passerby around 10:00 a.m. The passerby reportedly knocked on the car window to check on the man and called police after receiving no response.
Coroner Byrd confirmed that the man died by suicide, estimating the time of death to be approximately two to three days prior to the discovery.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
