COTTONWOOD, Ala. – The Cottonwood Fire Department, severely damaged by a tornado last year, is on track to rebuild and resume operations by the end of the year. With a clear vision of the new station now in place, along with secured funding, construction is set to begin soon.
The new fire department building will stand as a symbol of resilience and recovery for the Cottonwood community. Fire Chief Randy Hall expressed his gratitude, stating that the project represents “a lot of prayers being answered,” reflecting the hope and perseverance that have carried the town through the challenges of the past year.
The tornado, which caused extensive damage to several structures, left the fire department in need of significant repairs. However, thanks to the support of local funding and the collaboration of community members, the plans for a state-of-the-art fire station are now moving forward.
Once completed, the new facility will enhance emergency response capabilities and improve the overall safety of Cottonwood residents. The department’s operations will return to full capacity, providing critical services to the town and surrounding areas.
The project, which was met with a strong outpouring of support, is expected to be a cornerstone for Cottonwood’s recovery, marking a fresh start for the fire department and the community it serves.
With construction slated to begin soon, the town remains hopeful that the new fire station will be operational by the end of the year, fulfilling the promise of a brighter, safer future for Cottonwood.
