DOTHAN, Ala. — A DUI charge against Marty Lovrich, the head baseball coach at Enterprise High School, has been dismissed by the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office. The decision followed a court appearance on Tuesday, where Lovrich pleaded guilty to two minor traffic violations.
Lovrich, who was arrested on January 30, agreed to plead guilty to charges of improper tag light and improper light. In return, the District Attorney’s office dismissed the DUI charge, as well as an additional charge related to an open alcohol container in the vehicle. The coach was required to pay $461 in court fines and costs, with a deadline for payment set for March 18.
According to a report from the Alabama State Trooper who made the arrest, Lovrich was driving his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe on Highway 192 at around 10:30 p.m. when he was pulled over. The trooper claimed Lovrich’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit of .08%, which led to the initial DUI charge.
Lovrich, who took over as head coach of the Enterprise Wildcats baseball team in June 2023, previously had a stint at Auburn University at Montgomery.
Despite the dismissal of the DUI charge, the outcome allows Lovrich to continue his coaching duties without facing further legal action related to the arrest, provided he pays the court costs by the specified date.
